the fantastic 3 being TL's own Edie, Marco and myself and the mountain being the beautiful Monte Subasio which gracefully dominates the skyline in this part of Umbria.. a really lovely day spent amongst friends, laughs, adventures, occasional disasters and wonderful natural beauty.. what more could you ask for? :-)

i'm sorry for my disappearence from you all... it's been a very difficult and stressful time for me and i find myself less able to cope with sometimes even the simplest things... you should see my email inbox with 40+ emails i havent even been able to read let alone reply to... i'm sure anyone who has suffered from depression knows how sometimes you just become emotionally 'phobic' and anything which makes you have to think or feel too much can become terrifying... it's hard to explain but i'm sure many can recognize in some way this feeling... and i guess as photography is also such an emotional thing for me it's been a bit of a raw nerve i've been afraid to touch... but anyway.. with the help of really special people like my fellow 'fantastic 3's' and with wonderful days like this surrounded by beauty which leaves less space in the mind for negative thoughts i'm fighting on and hope to be more fully functional soon :-)

as for this shot.. it is indeed the 3 of us, or our shadows to be exact, as we were all shooting the glorious landscapes and distant mountains while up on the Subasio last sunday.. there's me in the middle with Marco on the left and Edie on the right braving the cold and the wind.. suffering for our art! the shot is exactly as taken with only black & white conversion + contrast & usm added.

hope you enjoy it and hugs and best wishes to everyone ^_^

p.s.. just noticed that the 'contrasts' theme in the current scavenger hunt and thought this would be appropriate.. not just for the obvious contrasts of shadow/light and black/white but for the fact that even when you're freezing on a snowy mountain top.. with good friends and beautiful sights around there you can be a warmth that cuddles you like a blanket :-)

Hi Ayda,
I really like this, it has good contrasts and composition, but I also like that it conveys a sense that adventure is about to happen.

I saw Marco and Edie his/her photos Ayda...beautiful place to make photos. And you made also a beauty....even with cold feet ;-) I hope you had a hot chocolat when you was back.

Take care my dear friend.

Jos

I find this photo very inspiring, Ayda! I'm not seeing anyone, but there is a sense of happiness, probably because I know I would be happy just being there on a nice winter day! Great composition, great realisation. Excellent!

Hello Ayda,

Wonderful composition in B&W. The long shadows in the corner are palced well. The texture of the snow on the field is outstanding, almost can touch it. It is the treeline running to the mountains that really grabs my attention by the shadows pointing towards it. Excellent!!!

Peace and Love to you always!
Kevin

Very nice photo..WOW..
Thanks a lot.
I like it.

Nice to see some work from you again, Ayda... and a lovely one too. Did your feet get unfrozen already ?? (I looked at Marcos and Edies posts too, LOL).
I wish you - and Sir Bodmin - all the best for 2006, and for Saturday night: a very Merry Christmas!
TFS.
