[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to the conditions of the Venetian lagoon. For centuries gondolas were the chief means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice. In modern times the iconic boats still have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (ferries) over the Grand Canal. They are also used in special regattas (rowing races) held amongst gondoliers. The gondola is propelled like punting, except an oar is used instead of a pole. Their primary role today, however, is to carry tourists on rides around the canals of the City.

Bom dia Francis.
We do not always see the light in ideal conditions and there is the time of the experience, expertise and trained eyes.
It demonstrates that you are here, although it was a residue of harsh light.
My respects,
R.

Hi Francis.

Good to see a few greyscale images this morning, none more so than yours as you are usually in full lush colours.
I like your choice, the boat tied against the poles and the wayer movement view well as b.w. Reflections and light play well als.

stv ;o))

Bonjour Francis
I like the way the light interferes with the elements of this photo..on the gondola and on the posts..also like the tones of
black and grey on the reflection....TFS
Regards,Robert

Ciao Francis, lovely B&W composition with nice gondola, excellent clarity and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Trying to imagine this in color, I agree with your choice to go B&W. Great pov and dof with nice contrast. Very well done, tfs.

A different PoV of the gondola Francis, and I look for familiar shapes to check that it is what I think!
There are pleasing shadows and reflections. The composition with the poles keeps the eye in frame, well done.
The b/w was a master stroke.
Regards Jean.
