The Civic Theatre Castle is located in Cagliari . The historic building, recently restored and re-used, is located in Via Mario de Candia, in the Castle , next to the Palazzo Boyl and not far from Bastion .
Today's Civic Theatre was built in the nineteenth century instead of the previous wooden theater, built by Piedmont Saverio Belgrano Famolasco commissioned by the Marquis of Zapata Plashet , who wanted to build a theater attached to his palace in the Castle District. Later the building was sold to the town of Cagliari, who in 1831 commissioned the architect Joseph Cominotti to design and build a new theater in masonry. The departure from Sardinia in May 1832 by the architect Cuneo and subsequent death (which took place in Turin February 18, 1833) left the project without adequate supervision of works, which was commissioned in 1835 to Gaetano Cima , which brought minor changes to the project original Cominotti. The new theater was built in the style neoclassical and was inaugurated on October 2nd 1836 , in honor of the birthday of King Carlo Alberto.
On 26 February 1943 , during the Second World War , a devastating bombardment of the city was overthrown, involving the Castle District: the theater remained standing only the external walls, and were lost forever rich decorations that adorned the inner cover and boxes . At the same bombardment was destroyed near the triumphal arch of the bastion of Saint Remy and damaged the church of St. Joseph Calasanz . After sixty years of neglect, the Civic Theatre has been affected by recent restoration work that have allowed the reopening to the public. Of the original building remain only the external walls, punctuated by gabled windows and frames, while the interior is not restored as it was, it is very essential and currently without cover on the room.

Love the play between light and shadow, in addition to the charm of lines this picture delivers in an elegant manner, GF!

Good details and well caught light with nice sharpness and clarity.
The POV is nice and colors are original.
Good contrasts exist within the picture.
Well done!

Have a nice weekend.

Ciao,
Paras
