|Medieval village of Bard, in Aosta's Valley.|
A beautiful historical site, full of little pleasant corners with a bold past.
Here there is a wonderful fortress, recently restored, which belongs at the chain of castles/fortress that in the past communicate between them lighting great fires, (every building was in view of the previous one & of the next one), so the masters of the manors could know in real time the movements of the invading troops, communicate simple infos, etc.
Today, crossing the valley, you can see a singular, original and different castle in every village, sometimes like a rude fort, sometimes more like a rich chateau, but ever dominating the immediate surrounding.
