City of Rome «Palatino».

According to ancient tradition, it was on this hill that the first settlement of Rome was made by Romulus in the middle of the eighth century B.C. Excavations have revealed huts and tombs from the Iron Age and, recently, an ancient fortification.
Between the second and first centuries B.C. it became a residential quarter for the Roman aristocracy.

The Emperor Augustus made the Palatino his official power-centre and initiated a building programme which saw the construction of imperial palaces, and various restructuring and enlargement of existing buildings built by previous emperors.

Excellent POV, amazing details on the columns. Wonderful sharpness.

Hi Jose...
Beautiful [email protected] shot with so nice tones...
Beautiful composition...

Ciao Jose.
great job, well in line with your style. It offers an atmosphere that recalls the decadence of ancient Rome great job, well in line with your style. It offers an atmosphere that recalls the decadence of ancient Rome and is perfectly in line with what, unfortunately, is happening today

At least 3 periods on your photo : roman, barocco and modern ! A very original view of the "roman stratification", with a good choice of the B/W !
Kind regards

Excellent composition. Old style photography with a modern digital twist. Very powerful image. Hope you are still visiting this site for comments.

Hi Jose,

Love the repetition of the vertical columns contrasting against the diagonal stairs. Good tonal range, graphism & sharpness. The domed cathedral at left is a good focal point. Excellent shadow detail. Tfs!
