[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
my first posting of photographed experiences from our north-east Italy tour.

Many thanks to Lucio (Redrubin) for his much appreciated help and hospitality.


The island of Burano lies in the northern part of the Venetian Lagoon, about 40 minutes from Venice by motorboat. It has a much different atmosphere from Murano or Venice's historic center, thanks to the Buranese custom of painting houses in bright colors--a tradition that may have had its origins in the color schemes of local fishing boats. Everywhere you look, you'll see houses clad in blue, green, pink, rose, lavender, purple, yellow, and other colors. And because Burano's houses tend to be small, the island has a cheerful coziness. It wouldn't be surprising if Burano were used as a model for a family resort at Disney World.

Hi Tsilla,
A nice shot of Burano, Venice.
Beautiful colored houses on both sides of the canal adorned with fabulous lighting and sharpness.
A marvelous blue sky to contrast well with the colorful environment.
Nice reflection on the not so clean water!
Good work well presented in this white neat frame.

Ow wow.. this is sooooo cool!
My hubby and I will go to Venice in November and I'm almost certain we can use one day to visit Burano. Such a lovely place!

wonderful Burano. You could call this shot United Colours of Burano :) This little island is wonderful place to visit. The composition of the photo is spectacular. Nice and deep perspective and fantastic colours. I like this one!
