Descrizione: Già Lysandra coridon (Poda, 1761) è una licenide ampiamente diffusa nel territorio europeo, tanto da giungere anche nella parte meridionale dell'Inghilterra, per la gioia degli appassionati inglesi, che la soprannominano "chalk hill blue", in ragione dell'habitat collinare che la ospita.

Maschio: Colore azzurro chiaro con bordo marginale nerastro. Punti marginali neri nelle ali posteriori. Frange bianche con tratti neri in corrispondenza delle nervature.

Maschio Rovescio: ali anteriori di colore biancastro con disegno puntiforme nero. Posteriori generalmente bruno chiaro con sfumatura basale verde, disegno puntiforme nero contornato di bianco e spazi submarginali arancio più o meno estesi.

Femmina: colore bruno scuro uniforme con spazi submarginali arancio generalmente più estesi nelle ali posteriori. Frange bianche con tratti bruni in corrispondenza delle nervature. Nelle ali anteriori tratti discocellulari neri.

Femmina Rovescio: colore bruno chiaro con disegno puntiforme nero contornato di bianco e spazi submarginali arancio. Leggera sfumatura basale verde nelle ali posteriori.

Distribuzione: tutta Italia ad esclusione di Sicilia e Sardegna.

Habitat: prati e radure dal piano basale a quello montano sino a oltre 2500 m s.l.m.

Generazioni annuali: una con sfarfallamento in luglio-agosto

Piante nutrici: Hippocrepis comosa, Coronilla varia, Coronilla minima, Astragalus glycyphillos.
