Castelluccio is one locality of the common one of Norcia (PG). Il paese si trova in cima ad una collina che si eleva sull'omonimo altopiano, uno dei più vasti dell'Italia centrale ed inserito nel Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. L'altezza di 1.452 m s.l.m. ne fa il centro abitato più elevato dell'Appennino Umbro-Marchigiano e di tutti gli Appennini. Di fronte ad esso si erge imponente la sagoma del Monte Vettore (2.478 m). Il paese si trova a circa 28 km di distanza da Norcia, ed è raggiungibile attraverso una strada panoramica. Secondo i dati Istat del 2001, è abitato da 150 residenti.
La presenza dell'uomo nella zona è testimoniata sin dall'epoca romana, con il rinvenimento di alcuni oggetti in terracotta presso la Fonte di Canatra, in località Soglio. Inoltre, nelle fondamenta di una casa furono rinvenute nei secoli passati diverse monete romane risalenti al periodo dell'imperatore Claudio II il Gotico (III secolo), e lungo la strada che conduce a Forca di Presta, si trovò anche la tomba di un soldato romano. Il nucleo attuale risale al XIII secolo, anche se alcune ricerche tendono a retrodatarne la fondazione.
L'economia del paese è strettamente legata all'attività della pastorizia, che ancora costituisce una buona parte degli introiti degli abitanti. Ad essa va aggiunta l'agricoltura, con la produzione di prodotti tipici quali le famose lenticchie di Castelluccio. Il turismo è presente tutto l'anno: nel periodo invernale, la località di Forca Canapine ospita impianti di risalita funzionanti per attività sciistiche, mentre nel periodo estivo l'escursionismo attrae un gran numero di appassionati.

Hi Silvio,
Here you caught beautiful texture of these fields covered with snow. I like the graphical composition with so many lines and patterns.
The diagonal row of electricity poles are making the composition.
Well done for this rather monochromatic presentation.

Hi Silvio.

I like this presentation, the vast flatness of the felds has been given much appeal with these tones. Th eline of wires across the scene adds good depth, neatly caught.

I see that December with whole Europe said hello alike, because it snowed everywhere, in Poland also!
You showed these very nicely the field covered the white carpet in the beautiful light.
The black poles which enliven this painting are the nice addition.

Greetings Silvio,your normal palette of colour,has been zapped by winters white blanket,but it still holds a beauty with its patchwork of whites & the long line of telegraph poles stretching across the fields.Well taken.
