Mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 metres of ash in 79 AD when Mount Vesuvius erupted.
This is just a tiny part of the site.
It has been a tourist destination for the last 250 years. And is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Thanks for looking.

Hi, Jean. Nice point of view for this picture of the archaeological site. The exposure, sharpness and the textural quality looks good. Someday I hope to visit this site.
Thanks for the note. Cheers.
A fantastic linear presentation with exceptional depth with good details.A perfect one for this weeks theme, well done.
Great contribution to Friday's theme and also of historical importance. I hope they well preserve those ruins. Good pov except for the chain but unfortunately that is necessary. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.
Boa tarde Jean,
An excellent entry for the last Friday Teme.
Great clarity, colors, details and composition.
Very, very good.
