[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a tiny section of the ruins at Pompeii; the people going up the ramp in the centre of the shot are just beginning their tour.

Pompeii was buried by an erupting Vesuvius in AD 79.
The remains of Pompeii were discovered around 1750.

Here you are able to see Vesuvius in the background, ever present, and maybe a threat in the future?

Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean, Nice view of the ruins at Pompeii taken with great light and colours. The visitors bring life to the place. The mountain in the BG gives a sense of depth to the composition. Thank for sharing

Memories of when we were there.
So amazing to walk back in time there.

Hi Jean,
Ever reminder of the power of nature, nice presentation.

salut jean.
après avoir vu le filme de pompei je pensai spas qu'il y restait quelque chose :-)

A very nice scene well balanced, I like the reading of this photo.
Excellent pov. Looks like a lovely postcard. Well done.

Hi Jean, nice point of view to get the most of the ruins of Pompeii. Including people was a good idea since it gives a sense of the scale. Excellent clarity, lighting and a very balanced composition. Thanks for sharing.

We learn so much from photos posted on this web site, I didn't know the extend of the excavation of the ruin but glad to see some parts are being restored to the old glory. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

Nicely composed Jean. The eye is led naturally into the distance and the hills. It looks a very pleasant area and not the dangerous place it was in those days !!
