The Trulli of Alberobello

Trulli, limestone dwellings found in the southern region of Puglia, are remarkable examples of drywall (mortarless) construction, a prehistoric building technique still in use in this region. The trulli are made of roughly worked limestone boulders collected from neighbouring fields. Characteristically, they feature pyramidal, domed or conical roofs built up of corbelled limestone slabs.

Bom dia Tsilla,
Awesome descending POV and spectacular depth.
You overcame well the challenge of the white under clear light and soft shadows.
A great photo.
R.

Hello Tsilla

I like the view of this remarkable place. The stone roofs, walls, all used from their surroundings. Now that is very smart. Thanks for the view from this part of the world. Sharp, awesome POV.
Nice

I love the architecture of the way they constructed the roof, so unique.

Those building techniques might be primitive but it seems they are more durable than modern method. Nice capture of this street and the beautiful architectures. Good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Olá tsilla

Hello Tsilla, an excellent picture looking down the steep street; the houses look quite charming.
I imagine that the display cabinets on the walls are in place of a shop window?
I was unaware of this region until today, tfs.
Regards Jean.
