The island of Zakynthos was leveled by an earthquake about a hundred years ago. During my stay of two weeks, the house I rented shook twice, but only enough to frighten the cat (and me as well!). Well, I've been to Greece over a dozen times, but a restaurant in Zakynthos City is, without doubt, the best of all I've
tried. I was alone, but they served me as though I were in the company of at least two others. This photo is of just the "starters". What followed...a rack of lamb
stuffed peppers, etc..... was not only delicious, but absolutely copious! I don't recall the name of the place, but it's right across from the only church in town. It's worth a detour, as Michelin would say!
Oh, I should mention that this feast cost me a bit less than 14€...about what McDonald's would charge for two Big Macs and fries! |
