Hi TL Archaeologists!

Poseidon is a god of many names. He is most famous as the god of the sea. Poseidon became ruler of the sea, Zeus ruled the sky, and Hades got the underworld. The other divinities attributed to Poseidon involve the god of earthquakes and the god of horses. The symbols associated with Poseidon include: dolphins, tridents, and three-pronged fish spears.

Poseidon was relied upon by sailors for a safe voyage on the sea. Many men drowned horses in sacrifice of his honor. He lived on the ocean floor in a palace made of coral and gems, and drove a chariot pulled by horses. However, Poseidon was a very moody divinity, and his temperament could sometimes result in violence. When he was in a good mood, Poseidon created new lands in the water and a calm sea. In contrast, when he was in a bad mood like now (^_^), Poseidon would strike the ground with a trident and cause unruly springs and earthquakes, ship wrecks, and drownings.

The Sanctuary of Poseidon is a temple of white marble Agrileza which was erected in the middle of the 5th Century BC. That’s pretty old! (^_^)

Hi Constantinos,

Very different from the usual sunsets of Sounio ... great shot, great PP, my friend !

Hi Constantinos!
In our school, we were thought that the parthenon is an example of perfection, from its location to its entasis. This is similar. I like your POV and the BG sky. I'l put this in my amazing architecture theme. TFS.
Freddie :)
PS: post more of this kind, TL architects also love this :)

Welldone Con!
Special and artistic presentation ! TFS

ps busy all weekend with new computer setup.
Running ok now

WOW. He must be really pissed off if I interpret that sky correctly :-).
Good capture and good PP work.

Looks good on saturation of colors, it's like bringing us back in that time, old estranged feeling. Contrast and details are good. TFS

COn, I liked this. Nice archiological structure well presented. The blue sky, white pillers, nice combination and composition. Enjoyed the note too. :-) Vandana

Hi Constantine,

Very creative image, with excellent composition and POV. Your PP work has given a very dynamic mood and has also a quality of old and new together.

Hi Constantinos,
Am I glad that Poseidon was in a better mood when we visited Cape Sunion.
Very nearby we also saw some people walking in circles but have not figured out if that was a ruin of the temple of Athene perhaps?
Have a nice day,

Really nice shot of the old ruins. I like the post processing effect giving the image some grain.

This one is definitely on my list of places to visit, Κώστα. I saw a couple of sunsets from that temple that were simply stunning...
Well, this is not a sunset, quite the contrary. Very well done on bringing the mood in the picture!

This is very dramatic. I love the sky and the strong POV. The greek gods would be very at home in a place like this

This is Greece Constantinos
I like the white of the temple against the dark sky

Sky sure does look angry Constantinos, great architecture and beautiful angle you have captured it from.. thanks

Εξαιρετική η αντίθεση των λευκών μαρμάρων με τον πανέμορφο μπλε ουρανό! Όμορφο σφιχτό κάδρο σε εγκλωβίζει στο θέμα. Ωστόσο νιώθω ότι δεν είναι και τόσο καθαρή... Υπάρχει κάποιο "μυστικό" στην επεξεργασία;

Hi Cons, this is a great architecture shot! And the lighting makes it even more dramatic! Great pov, with a good distance from the subject and enough space around the temple.

Great colours and sharpness.

Great work! Have a good evening! Yan :)

ps: thx so much for the crit on "Bridge - Gatineau Park". It was very useful!

Yassou Constantinos !

WooHooo Missed again a few days of activities on TL. It is easy to get far behind. A superb postcard . The effect is pretty efficient with these old grainy dark colors. Bravo!

Hello Constantinos,
I love this impressive shot.
This old monuments in the sunlight against the dark sky, that's marvelous - together with the headline realy perfect.
Thanks - you make me feel that I have to visit your wonderful country soon, I never had the chance, what a pity!
Thanks and greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

Dramatic picture - reminds me of a backdrop to a Ray Harryhausen film, especially with the grainy effect.
Thanks for sharing

Great impact with the dramatic sky and the high contrast against the subject. The slight grain is apt here IMO. Good handling of colors and sharpness. Well done!
