A healthy early lunch in Corfu, eaten (and photographed) during our last holiday there late last September.

Lots of lovely black olives, salad leaves, tomatoes and feta cheese, all drenched with olive oil. Delicious! And all eaten sitting before a wonderful view across the Ionian Sea looking toward Albania, only about two or three kilometres away. This was in north-east Corfu - you can see where our little villa was if you click on Map:[view].

A glass of wine might have added more interest to the picture, but the afternoon was to be spent driving and exploring the windy roads of Corfu and battling with the local drivers.

Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

As always, all comments/critiques/advice are warmly welcomed!

I like the careful focus on the dish with the background giving us an enviable context

Hi John,
This a delicious healthy lunch in such a peaceful ambient.
I like the shallow fcusing on the food while maintaing a considerable depth into the perspective.
Splendid colors adorned with this marvelous sunlight.
A pleasant composition with such neatness.
My regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi, John -
Just love the setup for this image - the viewer really feels as though he's sitting down to this simple, delicious bowl in an ideal sunny paradise. Interesting narrow portrait format. Wonderful light and feel. Well done.

Lovely shot John. I love the sharpness and clarity of the dish and the salad, and the depth in the BG .. swimming pool, water, distant hills, sky. Great vivid colors in the salad too, which contrast nicely with the softness of the rest of the scene.
Wish I was sitting there right now!

Hi John,
I'm not sure this is right, you have made the lunch dish more desirable than the swimming pool or the scenery:-)
I think many Canadians & Americans viewing this, are wishing they were at this location right now.Salad looks inviting.

hi John nice colours here and wonderfull sharpness on the food love the slight blur on the background
tfs regards bryan

Bonjour John,

Hello John, great composition and use of the 'portrait' presentation.
The sharp focus on the salad, with the slightly out of focus bg of the pool, the sea and the mountains was an excellent idea, and the bg puts the whole shot into context.
And my my! That salad looks absolutely delicious!
The shot did not need a glass of wine,I cannot imagine where it would fit in the composition.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi John,
I see you have a lot of photos on TL as well!!.
I think this is a brilliant photo. I love the composition, the sharpness and the light. I am not sure of the swiming pool though. I kind of wish it was not there at all.

Thanks for sharing
