I had the good fortune to visit the Aropolis during a business trip to Athens. Magnificent doesn't start to discribe the ancient building here.
The detail on the smaller Erechtheion was more impressive than the Parthenon, so I spent quite some time photographing this building.
It was built between 421 and 406 BC
PP: Cropped a little, upped contrast quite a bit as it was a very bright day and difficult to define shape, even using the sun as backlighting.
