Dear Trek-lensers,

Sometimes, I like to observe certain factors which give a flower a special look and usage of backlight is one aspect of it. Therefore, I tried to catch the effect of the direct sunlight falling on the back of semi-transparent and tender petals of a daffodil flower growing in a garden.

The daffodil flowers were blooming to their best and enjoying the spring sunshine. They were charming and happy, spreading their colorful magic allover after a harsh winter season. This scenario was indeed interesting to me and I thought to share it with you all.

Looking forward to your critiques/comments/suggestions.

Best regards,

(Weather) conditions during the picture:

It was sunny and bright sunlight made the flower glowing like pure platinum. I tried my best to avoid any OE on the petals of these beautiful flowers with golden heart.

Ciao Paras, great closeup of beautiful flower, wonderful colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Paras,

The subject is well framed. The macro point of view is showing the details and colors of the flower. The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

It reminds me of being in a tent with the subdued lighting visible through the petals. Lovely macro.
regards David

Hi Paras,

Effective tight framing here with no part of the screen wasted. Good sharpness & dof, and excellent colour & saturation. Good exposure on the whites with no oe & a subtle backlight that helps define the contours of the flower. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Paras,
Splendid light on this daffodil flower heading downwards...perhaps a little bit shy! Fantastic texture on the yellow part and the heart is in perfect sharpness.
The white part of the flower is creating a fabulous BG to compliment this beauty.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Hello Paras, one thing that I love about TL is the original ideas that members come up with, and this is a great way to take a picture of the familiar daffodil. The back light shows all the folds and texture of the flower, and lovely shadows where the petals overlap.
Excellent sharpness.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Wow Paras, in this one you are surpassing yourself !
Really really great how the petals do function as filter. Or maybe I must say as a shell, in which the yellow part lives its beautiful life.
The exposure is superb and, maybe, can't be better.
Very good sharpness too. And the POV ... couldn't be better too.

Hello Paras.
Nature is perfect, but have enigmas...
Nice shot :)

Hi Paras!
Wonderful backlight shot. Perfect sharpness and impressive details of the heart of the flower.
I must say that you did a great work. It is not easy to photograph a white flower in a sunny day without OE!
Congratulations my friend.
Ciao! Vanda
