[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dear All,

I don't prefer using flash when taking flower pictures but this one is one of my rarest flower closeups which I took using flashlight. I have reasons for that:

1. After I realizes how the flower appears in darkness (gray weather), it was a kind of magical feeling using a "(flash)light of hope".

2. After the short spell of shower, the flower was beautified with pearl-like droplets which appear even more shiny and prominent on the tender and soft petals of this red and golden tulip flower.

I do have many more explanations why I went for this shot but if I number them all in my note, it would be a bit complicated :-D

Hope you like the mood here.

ISO=100, cropped in such a way that the role played by the dark surroundings is prominent and therefore I included the sky more to the right, giving the flower a position obeying "rule of thirds".

...and finally resized for TL.

Viele Grüße Paras!

I like how your flash has created a glass-like appearance on the flower. The low POV works nicely, particularly with the vibrant colors of the flower as opposed to the monotone tree in the background. I've found that sometimes flash is "needed" and sometimes it can be used creatively, as is the case here. TFS.

Best regards,

Hello Paras!
Wonderful flower, amazing tulip, fine lightness and colours.
Good low point of view. Very good capture and exposure.
Superb contrast and sharpness.
Original take, splendid effect.
Good luck!

Hi Paras,

nice colors and light,
good focus and sharp picture,
well done.
Have a nice WE..

Hi Paras.
Lovely vivid colors shot against the beauitful texture of BG tree which plays a beautiful backdrop.
Best Wishes

Hello Paras , the flash is the least interesting part of my camera i shall say , i will go to great lengths not to use it but under certain difficult lighting conditions like here it can be of use to give the photographer a higher chance to make a shot possible which otherwise would lack light ,contrast and everything else for that matter!
One can clearly see the drops very sharp and the glaring effect that the flash has produced , quite minimal in spots but evenly displayed to lighten up your subject but it is ok to me not being too strong , composition-wise it could be better imo , the tulip re-positioned to the right side away from the frame a wee more than it is here and a plus if it could be made to lean toward the center yet the idea is to un-clog the left part of the scene for a better view of the BG ( i think that even set into the gloomy grayness of the sky the skeletal-looking tree and its tentacular branches need be better exploited by making it more prominent than the featureless sky ...), the wires may go , despite my disagreeing with your compo i like and approve of the bold and eye-catching approach to outdoor flash photography , one of those exemples with potential i believe , nice try my friend,
Regards ,

Hi, Paras. A beautiful POV for this orange gold tulip. The macro sot is so sharp, excellent exposure and natural colors with a lovely background. Shimmering golden drops with the calligraphic outline of branches on a grey day. Cheers.

Hi Paras,
Good use of fill-in flash in this colorful macro, although the light is still harsh. Anyway you succeeded to bring out the vivid colors of the flower with nice droplets hanging on the petals.
Very neat work.
Best wishes,

Francis Xavier

There are valid reasons to use flash and your photo is a justification...with excellent result. Very unusual pov but effective. It has a good dof with sharp details. Very nice colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Paras,
A one-off effect that you have shown your picture with the theme you have chosen well and also has all together make a beautiful picture. Congratulations.
Best regards.

Hi Paras!
Excellent macro of tulip...the flash doesn't disturb...the light is fascinating and the flower stands out against the BG very well.
The image is clear, with fine details of the droplets.
Well done my friend.
Have a nice Sunday.
ciao! Vanda

Hi Paras,
A true jewel with such marvellous colors and details enhanced by the flash!
Have a nice Sunday

dear Paras,
an unusual macro shot of interestingly lighted tulip,
fore artificial light condition and back natural sky and branches are strangely contrasted here,
also vivid colors of petals and back settled colors are layered to make mysterious ambience too,
thank you for your excellent shot,
