[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of many doors built to fit in with the architecture of this ancient walled city built around 1360-1500. 40% of the original city was damaged in the 1940s but all new work is in the old style. Perhaps one of the most beautiful old walled cities in the world.

The setting is very picturesque. The old town was situated above a sharp bend in the Tauber River. The walls follow the cliffs on the inside of the bend, while on the opposite side there is an inner and an outer wall, separated in some places by a now-dry moat. Numerous tall towers overlook both the inner and outer walls, many of them being decorated by a clock and beautiful archway. One of those towers, opens to a beautiful Burggarten, a flowered park perched along a ridge over the beautiful valley.
