[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
As the temperature was raising the falling snow turned into melted snow and the snow on the ground was disapearing rapidly but the benches kept their white top a little longer creating a quite peculiar contrast againt the dark surrounding of the "cour Carrée" du palais du Louvre.

Post-processing
Contrast, colour and level post processing:
- Added a level correction on an adjustment layer
- Selected Red channel and set input level to 0-1,00-213
- Selected Green channel and set input level to 0-1,00-214
- Selected Bleu channel and set input level to 6-1,00-220
- Selected RGB channel and set input level to 0-0,77-255 (gamma correction)
- used contrast masking technique explained here

- Added a curves correction on an adjustment layer
- Selected RGB channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 44 output: 27
Input: 99 output: 117
Input: 195 Output: 229
- Selected Red channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 51 output: 6
Input: 151 output: 137
Input: 204 Output: 228
- Selected Green channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 38 output: 31
Input: 125 output: 129
Input: 197 Output: 223
- Selected Blue channel set 2 anchors at:
Input: 22 output: 33
Input: 149 output: 126
- Set layer opacity to 15%

- Added another curves correction on an adjustment layer
- Selected RGB channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 70 output: 94
Input: 182 output: 211
Input: 218 Output: 240
- Selected Red channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 76 output: 33
Input: 174 output: 130
Input: 242 Output: 255
- Selected Green channel set 2 anchors at:
Input: 28 output: 51
Input: 127 output: 118
- Selected Blue channel set 3 anchors at:
Input: 35 output: 54
Input: 165 output: 160
Input: 255 output: 188
- Set layer opacity to 15%

Black & white convertion:
I've used two set channel mixer one for the bottom of the picture and a another one for the top.

Bottom channel mixer:
- Added a channel mixer on an adjustment layer (placed before the curves layers)
- Ticked Monochrome checkboxe
- Set red channel to -75%
- Set green channel to +150%
- Set Bleu channel to +25%

Top channel mixer:
- Added a channel mixer on an adjustment layer (placed before the curves layers)
- Ticked Monochrome checkboxe
- Set red channel to -75%
- Set green channel to +25%
- Set Bleu channel to +150%

Resizing and sharpening:
- Reduce image size to 525x700 pixels
- Flatten the layers
- Applied slightly modified Luko's sharpening tricks:
- Applied USM Gain: 18% Radius: 40 pixels Threshold 0
- Applied USM Gain: 400% Radius: 0,3 pixels Threshold 0
- Selected fade in edition menu and set it to darken mode and opacity to 100%
- Applied USM Gain: 400% Radius: 0,3 pixels Threshold 0
- Selected fade in edition menu and set it to lighten mode and opacity to 50%

The facade of the old museum appears so flat, like in dreams, but the benches give nice sense of depth and live-up the scene. I like the greenish tones on your shots, very nice signature of yours. Excellent work.

Alban

excellent mood in the composition Romain :)
useful note once again :)

J'aime vraiment ton PP, ce mélange de gris/vert me fait un peu penser à une BD dont je ne me souviens l'auteur... J'aime bien le fait que les deux bancs soient recouverts de neige. Bravo
Fred

Reminds me of an old Monotype, very soft and reflective. Well seen and composed.

A lot of work, but the result proves that it was worth it. Terrific shot.

Peter

Je ne comprends pas grand chose à la note, mais le résultat est impressionnant. Ces bancs qui se détachent de la grisaille forment un beau graphisme. Bravo!

Great PP Work and sharpness!Good composition!I like the atmosphere of snowing very much!Because we don't have a white Christmas in Hong Kong.Thank's for sharing.
