In french we say "Il fait un froid de canard" (a duck's cold)
As a mallard (Colvert) I am supposed to know what I am speaking of.
Taken on the side of the River Loire 2 years ago

"What power art thou, who from below
Hast made me rise unwillingly and slow
From bed of everlasting snow?
See’st thou not how stiff and wondrous old
Far unfit to bear the bitter cold,
I can scarcely move or draw my breath?
Let me, let me freeze again to death."

Henry Purcell

Bonjour Henri
Belle représentation du froid, avec ce canard qui vient renforcer l'adage..
Içi au Québec on emploie l'expression...Y fait frette....et depuis le début
de l'année y fait frette souvent :-)

Bon We Henri
Robert

Bonjour Henri, the poor duck out on the ice; she looks as if she is wondering where to go next!
A very fitting entry, I like it.Good sharp focus on the dried reeds, the ice and the duck.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Lovely, lonely duck in frigid surroundings, very well composed, sharp with natural colors. All the best Otto.

Hi Henri, Poor duck in an icy surroundings. I feel pity on her especially she is alone. Perfect entry for the Theme. Nice tones and saturations along with details and great winter mood. Thank for sharing

The river is frozen and the duck is too cold to decide what to do. Nice presentation and good capture

Definitely appears cold to me Henri, the poor duck may be thinking "same time next year, I'm on the migration route" TFS

Hi Henri
The bushes around the image are normally those which I always try to avoid or clone out. However, it is the lighting here which you have managed very well.

We hope he will find his food what a great winter-scene and also lights well done HENRI LECAIRE

Ciao Henri, lovely winter view with nice duck, excellent clarity, splendid light and wonderful natural colors, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Looks like the duck is contemplating whether it's worth it to go swimming, it does look very cold. Good pov and nice details. Well done, tfs.
