This is my contribution to the theme. I'm not sure if it suits. In Malta we have no chimney pots at all. Most of our chimneys are ornamental on the roofs of the houses.
This shot was captured while on holiday is Strasbourg, France. Although the main subject is the stork nest, the chimney is playing an important role in the composition.

Bonjour Francis
there is a chimney , there is a system for extraction , and even with bricks- so that for me the picture fits well for th theme.
But it is clear it is first worth for its artistic composition and beautiful shot of our Alsace.
best regards
henri

Hi Francis

beautiful capture and details
very good work
well done

Bom dia Francis,
An image that permeates the classical European imagery: chimneys and storks' nests.
I can swear that Steve Fry to launch this theme was present a something similar.
Your photo is not only a fine contribution for the Theme, but also a great picture, among yours best.

Hi Francis.

You certainly chose a majestic place to capture the chimney pot but with this nesting pair of storks just beats the lot. Truly stunning the angle used and detail, the light being so friendly for you, love it. tfs

Hi Francis,

The point of view is showing the details and colors of the chimney and of the storks. The storks are helping to frame the chimnney. A good contribution to the Friday's theme, have a nice day.

Francis,
Reminds me of the church next to my grade school that had a similar stork nest... Nice POV and contribution to Friday theme. Well done.

As usual for you, excellent detail with everything sharp and clear. The chimney and the nest are well balanced. Although there is empty space on the top right, it doesn't seem to matter as the eye isn't drawn to this area.

Cute capture and good contribution to Friday's theme. Those storks are smart, they know where the heat is coming from. Great pov and dof with nice details. Wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi Francis Xavier,I remembered from a visit to Germany many years ago, having the pleasure to view storks using a chimney as your image shows,& was hoping a member would perhaps include it for this weeks theme,I thank you for that, as it brings back some very fond memories.I find your image has a perfect balance with the storks at one end & the lone chimney standing tall at the other.Lots of details, good colour captue & a perfect fit for the theme.TFS
Cheers
Ron

A special shot with amazing view to a chimney against a neighbored Stork nest, Francis!

Light and exposure are very well handled, and colors are natural.
A very well suited entry to Friday's theme!

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,
Paras

Hello Francis,

That's a beautifully taken bottom up view. Excellent details and greyish sky is looking interesting. A family of storks is adding life. A lovely scene from built up area, well done. Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards,
Inaam

I echo Ronald's terms to describe the view you present here , the chimney in its higher position at one end of the roof seems to tower over the large nest and the storks going about cleaning their feathers sited lower at the other end , balance and harmony are what make this compo work for me , good light too and it suits the theme , tfs,
have a great weekend,
Carol

Hi Francis..nice shot...perfect details and focus with excellent tones and light.

Roger

Nice balance between the chimney and the storks. Nicely framed. Good entry to theme.

This is the stand-out one for the theme Francis, not only a fine POV on the chimney, but a stunning nature shot as well.
Well seen, and very well captured.

Francis,

I believe your subject is a worthy contribution to the Friday Theme. The stork nest adds much to the images and the steep slope of the rood add a very dynamic and anglaur element to the composition. The angle and color of the light creates a warm and beautiful image.

LAB

Hello Francis, I don't think that I have ever seen nesting storks on a roof for real; something that I would like to see!
A good composition with strong shapes and lovely textures.
I wonder where the storks would go if there were no chimneys?
Tfs, regards Jean.
