[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
I was planning on uploading some beach sunset photos I got last night, but just had too see what you all thought of this one...

For decades, humanity has been faced with various dilemmas. Some of these can be very serious indeed. When will the world's natural resources run out? Is there more to life? How did the universe begin? Or if you are female, you can add to the list "Is this pair of shoes right for me?"

I was at a market in Lannion this morning with my family, so I had to entertain myself with candid shots of the public. I saw this woman playing with a pair of shoes for quite some time, probably wondering how she will explain yet another pair to her significant other...

Quite a lot of PP went in to this. I cropped the right and left, partially desaturated, dodged and burnt here and there, adjusted levels, diffuse glow, and the frame and some USM along the way. I thought this turned out pretty sharp for 300mm (420mm odd equiv.) at 1/160 sec.

Hope you like this, and I hope ladies won't take it the wrong way... I guess us gues will never understand...

LoL, this one is particularly good because of the note that comes with it. Not that the picture ins't good in itself... You really have succeeded in capturing the doubt expressed by this lady. I like the composition and your PP job here.
Bravo!!!
Annick

Beautiful hairs. Good work.

merhaba dear jako
very nice portrait picture.beautiful lovely women.well done best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

It almost looks like the shoes are a 'worry stone' for her. Good capture and PP and note on this one. Little bit OE'd, though, I think, must have been midday. That's a tough time for any of us. I usually seek the shadows and such then.

:)

Very nice photo and funny note! The shoe detail is brilliant. I like how she has them reversed and on top of each other, almost as is she was checking them to be the same size. Or even trying to get them into a smaller position to snatch them into her purse and run away. :) I believe women can go ever further over a pair of new shoes!
The effect on the hair is great and the depth of field too. nice contrasts and nice vertical eye sight. This photo make the eye go up and down, from face to shoes several times.
The details on her forehead are also quite interesting.
(the handbag however is a bit distracting, I would have removed just that last bit that shows over her arm)

great photo!
thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

Hi Jako, I really like the tight vertical compo here and the duotone colours.

Take care, Yan :)
