If this doesn't look like anything you've ever seen, let me help you: It is an iron, early 20th century I'm told. You put hot coals inside and worked very hard. Whilst ironing is not fun today, imagine what it was like then!

hi Nina..we have a lot of them here in antique shops..maybe it's because we had electricity later than there...mom used to tell me her memories of using it on a coal stove...
I liked the newspaper vs textured wall and your iron..conrasting concepts together..and of course the shadow..I would prefer if you got rid of the newspaper shadow maybe ...

Very nice composition, Nina. I tried to figure out from the newspaper where this shot was taken. I'm at a loss. Was it in some "Slavic" country? We had irons like this back in Pennsylvania. My grandmother actually used one! That kinda dates me...ha!
