These wildflowers are very beautiful and fairly rare. I found them at the top of a 3000ft high mountain near Zagreb. We used to call them Dog's Tooth. Anyone know their real name?

Yup, it's a Dogs Tooth Violet (Erythronium dens-canis). You've captured this pair nicely, although I think I'd probably have cropped slightly more evenly (a little off the left), and I'd have been tempted to move that beech leaf away from the left hand flower myself, but that's me. Nicely exposed and reasonably sharp! Good shot :-D

WOW.. a very good shot you have captured here Nina, looks like you had to deal with strong harsh light, but managed to get good colour from these, shallow dof always works with this, presume you were on macro setting. enjoyed as usual with your work.

Lovely clear shot. I like the angle and how we can see the trees in the forest. The DOF is great too, well captured.

Very nice, Nina. When was the shot taken? An empty spiky chestnut shell is still visible at the bottom of the flower. It's very uuncommon to find it there at this time of year as it starts blooming at the end of August & early September (talking about Medvednica).
Please, just let me streighten up a few facts here:
The mountain's name is Medvednica (derives from Croatian for bear: medvjed). It is exactly 3,297.24 high and is IN Zagreb - not near.

A wonderful and striking picture of a pair of Dogs Tooth flowers. This is a great composition, although I would agree with Adrian on some of the compo changes. Otherwise, very good use of DoF and lovely clarity with vivid colours, you have done a great job here Nina.
Well done!

This photo is very cute ! The DOF, the beautiful subject, all in this photo is cute! Congrats. Eduardo

This is excellent, crisp image beautifully composed. Looks like the first colours of spring?

Opa Nina! :)) You make an extraordinary beautiful photo and I'm so glad to find it! DOF should be deeper but colors cover all... Bravo! :)

Une profondeur de champs comme je les aimes...avec de la lumiere ici et là...
Des teintes merveilleusement naturelles....
Tres belle réalisation...
