At almost 1500 m Lukomir is the highest and most isolated village in Bosnia Herzegovina . Access to the village is impossible from the first snow in December until late April except by skis or on foot .I can attest the old and rustic village is hard to get to even at the height of summer, the long road to it is nothing short of bumby and dirt all the way but the views as you climb and even out onto the plateau will take your breath away . Tourism has reached the village but thanks to its remotness it is kept to a minimum , only a few dozens visitors make it there yet a lodge at the canyon edge of the village has recently opened to accomodate overnight visitors and as this photo attests nothing is exactly fancy as far as catchy storefronts go , just a rack or a fence to display the goodies for sale ( even the choice is minimal ) barely two or three locals ( so far ) have started to deal with the precious few visitors . Very simplistic but we like( d ) it that way ! Here the owner's dog looked us over in an amiable and benevolent way during this short photo session , he almost went into a snooze instead of keeping a sharp eye on the master's stuff .

Iso 100, 1/160 s , f/6.3 taken in late PM on an overcast day , auto white balance , manual mode as always , thank you for looking ,

Hi Carol.

Great notes to this humourous capture....is the dog winking at a bargin, or one eye on shop lifters.
I like the addition of the wall to the left. tfs, have a good weekend.

Hello Carol,

That's a nice contribution from the remote area. I've lived in such village in North of Pakistan where population was scarce and communication was rare haha. Nice diplay of winter gear. Genuine idea. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards,

Hi Carol
Funny image, very sharp, with a great light, and a very well balanced composition.
Congrats my friend, mb

Hi Carol, what a great contribution to the Friday Theme from far away. nicely presented - the dog adds to the appeal - I like the rough wooden fence as well as the stone wall.
Thanks for sharing and your interesting note - kind regards Monika

Good addition to this weeks theme Carol with an interesting note to accompany the shot. The composition is very well balanced with sharp detail, especially in the dogs fur. The colours harmonize well, making the most of the overcast conditions. The overall rustic feel of the shot is very appealing.

Ciao Carol, lovely composition with nice dog, original interpretation of friday theme, wonderful colors and splendid light, very well done, my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hello Carol, I like the story that you tell in your notes.A lovely picture with the dog acting guard over the varied knitwear.
A good low PoV and with a good DoF.
I guess that those gloves keep your hands really warm!
A shot that adds to the variety of the theme.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Nice scene, the dog watches the things on the fence, it is an informative photo with interesting note

Cute! I've of dogs and cats collecting stuff like shoes and slippers from other people's yard. And this puppy looks like he is very proud of his collections. Good lighting and sharp details. Very well done, tfs.
