[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Beguinage of Lier (Prov.Antwerp).

Canal Side is the fourth and last extension of the Beguine, built on the former beguinage moat in the period 1721-1726. Previously, the beguines used this place as a place for washing and bleaching of wool or linen. The street is strongly determined by the uniformity of the long row of houses. In the period 1979-1983 these houses were thoroughly restored.
