A WWII cemetery for German soldiers who died during the winter fights of 1944-1945 in the Belgian Ardennes. Heavy fights took place around the town of Bastogne between the Allied 101 Airborne Forces (story well known from Band of Brothers) and various parts of the German Wermacht and SS units.

Hi Kristof

PS after long time I understood how to open my theme for public use, so manhole now is for group. Tell to your hungarian friend !

Hi Kristof,
Nicely composed shot of this cemetery. The gravestones seem to be perfectly aligned, and being closely guarded by the staunch tree. Great colours and tones here. Excellent capture.

Hi Kristof,

there is something special about the cemeteries. I always like to observe them and to walk through this realm of the dead.

Wonderful shot, nicely composed with great sharpness and clarity of the colours.

Have a nice weekend,

Hi Kristof ,

This is a very good composition. The POV with the graves and interesting building is excellent. Very sharp, with a somber mood.

Best Regards,

HI Kritof..this is a nicely composed shot...nice tones, great light, great details.

Hello Kristof,
What a beautiful ending for such a horrible and unconsiousable beginning.
I recall in the years of my youth during the 50's and early 60's visiting many cemetaries of both WW's. Verdun, France was still off limits due to unexploded munitions as there were always children dying from playing in the forests and fields in that specific area.
I also recall in Belgium in this very area the tanks being placed in playgrounds for the children to play in, as well as the Dragon Teeth across the Siegfried Line.
War is a necessary evil, it is those most evil of people that create their own Hell and disperse its powers upon others across the Globe...
Excellent image , somber, yet sorrowful for all that had to endure and of those that had fallen to bring a semblance of calm to man's disorder.

Bonjour Kristof,
Beautiful picture and presentation of the German cemetery soldiers in Belgian Ardennes, Excellent point of view and note,
Excellent done my friend..

Very good composed with this church or gospel in the back ground - it is sad that because of few idiots, millions have to fight and die...
Nice work Kristof on this one.

Hi Kristof

There are no winners in war. Everyone loses. Best avoided, imho. Good repetition of the gravestones, & a good historical note & documentary shot. Nice to see a couple of wreaths, even over 64 years later. Tfs!

HI Kristof
Cemetaries do attract me probably due to the fact that I was around during WW2.
Be it any denominations it is always sad to see the loss of lives due to politics or religion.
WEll kept and looking like a military cemetray with all the same crosses its a good capture, but when you think of it so very little for so much.

Ciao Kristof, great perspective on war cemetery and beautiful church, splendid light and colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Belgium was in the thick of many battles in the wars. How sad it must have been to have lived there at that time.
Nicely composed image Kristof, and the colours and details are all very crisp and clear.
Good one
