*** Please look at the large version before you read on... ***

Taken during our visit to the De Panne beach in October. Though it was one of the nicest week-ends we've had in 2007, this Sunday started quite foggy. As a result, light was a bit flat. Fortunately it cleared out later in the day.

If there's one thing that Dingo really likes, it's "hitting the beach". Swimming, playing with a ball and/or a frisbee, chasing gulls... he always has the time of his life. I hope these pics convey that message ;o). They were taken on continuous shooting mode within a 1 second time frame...

It seems I've used up my 5Mb of large posts, so I had to upload the large picture to another server. Guess I'll have to clean out my LP gallery :-(.

I added another pose by Dingo as a bonus shot here.

In my early days on TL I did something similar. If you're interested, take a look here.

Tech talk

"Intro" picture
-Cropped from bottom & top to get a >2.5 ratio - in vain, it seems...
-Levels, Highlights +5.
-Downsized as per usual.
-Added the text on a blurred bit of the water.

Large composite picture
-Cropped each image.
-Levels, Shadows & Highlights.
-Created a new picture, copied the individual images as separate layers and arranged them on the canvas.
-Downsized from about 7800 to 4000 pixels.
-Framed and added borders

Hi Frank,

I love the way you composed it in landscape and narrow format . .
It's aligned with the size of the dog . .
Very sharp image and shows the dog having fun on the beach . .
I like it . .

Hi dear Frank ,
nice shot with great composition and bautiful colours.
light and sharpness are great.
thanks for sharing
my best wishes

" Mijnheertje is op wandel " ;-)
Als foto van een hond lijkt me dit goed inelkaar te zitten :
kleur, compositie en scherpte zijn allemaal ok.
( moest dat nu een kat wezen ... )
Goeie weergave van de kleur van het water :
zo ziet ze eruit !

Ben geen fan van tekst in een foto, maar
daar let ik dan maar niet op :-)

Hi Frank and Hi to the great Dingo. nice horizontal framing. looks like he enjoys the beach walk!

Hi Frank,
I absolutely defenitely would make a collage with the 4 pictures in it. This is too much fun - you have to share it all in one.
I know collages and postcards are not so popular, but this would make a great combination.
Lovely pictures all of them.

Hi Frank,
A very nice portrait of Dingo, the dog. The extra links gives a good impression of the activities of dingo.
The light and sharpness are really good in this image, as are the colors. Good job.

Dingo would love it here Frank. Especially now that summer has arrived - hopefully it will stay...

This pic looks good, he's walking along waiting for someone to play with him... But the LP - great series of Dingo in action... But I love the WS - that expression on his face is priceless!!

"Hello Dingo my friend - come to NZ and we can play at the beach all day!"

BTW, you can come too Frank...

Hin Frank,
Great cropping - the image seems like a panorama. Your dog enjoyed both the water and the frisbee - or am I wrong? Tfs these great shots (I checked out each). I myself am not really into dogs, but it doesn't mean a dog photo may not be something I like. Tfs.
Best wishes, László

I recognize the pleasure of playing immediatly in the workshop like here cause i had before a white berger who is a dog big almost like your's...
It was to my parents but i was the one who alway's bring him at the river to play and swim with me.
And the funny thing, These time Kathy do exactly the same with a large rubber band she bring me like a dog... Funny to see!
The shot here he seem very happy to walk with it's fressbe in mouth! :)

Hello Frank.

Iv got 2 black labs 1, 4 years and the other 1 years of age. They are quick a pair, The youngest femaile does the fresby thing over and over untile you quit throughing it. The older male just kicks back. Right now both are layed up on the catuch with their heads on pillows, great pets. As you shot here tell so many stories I can relate to it. The Pet the beach the fun this photo offers, Great work here and congrats.
TFS Kyle
