This is NOT St. Kitts, the island of Montserrat is not listed on the traklens menu, but it is located in that part of the world - Caribbean.
Two thirds of the island was wiped out in 1995 by a volcano which still rumbles threateningly on the island. The capital, Plymouth, seen in the distance was wiped out, covered by caustic volcanic ash.
This image was shot in color, though the only color visble was the green in the bushes (foreground). Photoshop removed this color to help tell the story. The desolation in what once was Plymouth is now nothing but grey-white lumps in the distance. |
