Lago de Yojoa
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Thanks to wikipedia I have this data:|
Lake Yojoa is the largest lake in Honduras with a surface area of 285 square kilometers (110 mi˛) and an average depth of 15 meters (50 ft). At an altitude of 700 meters (2,300 ft), it lies in a depression formed by volcanoes. The Lake Yojoa volcanic field consists of Pleistocene to Holocene scoria cones, craters, and lava flows.
The west side of the lake is bordered by steep mountains and Santa Bárbara National Park while the east side is adjacent to Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. The lake is situated on the highway that connects the two largest Honduran cities, Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. For many people traveling between the cities, the lake serves as a rest area where they can appreciate the view and enjoy the fresh fried fish and other foods that are offered by the restaurants located on its banks.
Words from the author ;)
Lago de Yojoa - a place where water meets the sky, and the earth tocuhes the sun's fires. We stayed there only for a while during our journey from Tegucigalpa to Gracias (a Dios) and Celaque National Park. To be honest I made some editing here - stamp - because of awfully bright electric lines going right through the middle of a picture (normal thing in Honduras).
I've used here my good olde Nikkor lens and "no-name" circular polarizer. Sun was so bright that there was no use for tripod.

wonderful pic with great composition and colors. the green and blue plus the clouds at BG are so interesting.
Great shot! I've been to this lake before, stopped and had some fish. Was later told the lake is pretty polluted and not to eat anything from it! HA!
