[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo dates back to '94 , taken in San Salvador main bus station , i used to travel around El Salvador by bus , admittedly these buses are truly ' works of art ' on wheels .I was amazed at the vivid multicoloured designs these buses were covered all over with ranging from plain religious to pop-culture , geometric lines and anything in between. Eye-catching ! Inside the usual posters , stickers with the mention ' God bless this trip ' gives passengers a good sense of security , statues of Jesus and the Virgin Mary adorn the flat space by the windshield glued to the top of the dashboard , rosaries dangling from the rear view mirror ! Every time i boarded one i felt like coming into a land of fantasy and asked myself how on earth can the driver see through , his view blocked by so many objects ! Anyway in the end it will always work ok although destinations are painted at the front it's difficult to know which bus leaves first , you must ask around !
Cropped , erased some debris on the pavement , removed some of the noise , obviously not all of it , played with curves, sharpened and framed,

Hi Carol,
Thi is a very nice capture of these colourful buses, I think I've only seen such buses in movies. :) Special post from El Salvador, the quality is quite good regarding the age of the shots. Your scanning technique is clean, overall we got a sharp and detailed composition. TFS!

Very interesting bus's and note. Unique artwork!! I actually have two sponsored children in El Salvador, hopefully someday I will get there to meet them. I hope you have more pictures to share with us of this area. TFS

Ah si Carol, parecen bastante familiares a los autobuses en Guat, pero los Guatemalans utilizan otros colores - colores más oscuros. Estos diseños son mucho más intrincados - más artístico, más moderno. In fact these buses in general seem to be in far better shape than any bus I ever saw in Guat!!! Those were all used school buses from the US.
Very interesting note as always Carol .. and a good title. And you did a fine job on the scanning again. Nice simple appropriate framing.

Really interesting shot Carol - very vibrant buses.. Nice and sharp too. I think I'd be tempted to imcrease the saturation of the colours a little - give a little more of the 'wow' factor!!

Hi Carol,

This reminds me of the "flower power" days!! I don't think I could resist taking the photo either. What is so nice is that you have more than one in the scene. Just seeing one would be unusual enough in my opinion, but three! That's great. If these don't make a tourist smile, not much will! :) Lisa

Its a bit like in Asia Carol,the busue are looking like true pieces of art,I wonder if this bus is a real Mercedes or just a clip on label on the front..
