Los Haitises National Park is a national park located on the remote northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. It is a place with spectacular landscapes, a coastal area of intricate bays, channels dotted with conical shaped limestone krasts surrounded by mangroves. The whole are is covered with virgin forest, and is full of birds like brown pelicans and frigate birds. Because the limestone dissolve easily in water, there are hundreds of caves that have been carved out of the rocks by rain water. Some of these caves contain paintings done by the natives of this area and are thought to be about one thousand years old. It is one of the most important ecological areas in the Caribbean.
Los Hitises is reached by boat from Samana. It is an absolutely fascinating place to visit, as the boat takes you through the channels surrounded by small islets full of birds and covered in thick green rain forest, one is transported to a scene from Jurassic park or some other long gone era. |

Hi Sunil.
A very tranquil ambient in this landscape shot. I like the light on the trees and the perfect exposure management all over. Very good composition with the water inlet on the left and producing in T-shape structure.
