A view of one of the temples at Altun Ha , 34 miles north of Belize City off the old Northern Hwy .
The ruins have inspired Belikin beer labels and Belizian banknotes .
During its peak in the Classic Period ( AD 250-1000 ) Altun Ha was a rich and important Maya trading and agricultural town with a population 0f 8000 to 10,000 . The entire site covers some 1500 acres but what visitors see today is th central ceremonial precinct of two plazzas surrounded by temples excavated in the 1960s and now looking clean following a stabilization and conservation program from 2000 to 2004.
Most of the temples date from around AD 550 to 650 .
Thank you for looking,

Hi CArol.

A very pleasing image, i like the angle used here, shows much texture of the stone and detail of tones. The sky is helping you here also, very well seen and taken. TFS

Stv :0))

So much history in those temple and thank you for the information. Don't you find it interesting that now we call those ancient people uncivilized? With what they have to work with and what they have accomplished, I think those people are more civilized and advanced than we are. Nice capture with good details and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

Ciao Carol, great POV on fascinating ruimes, fantastic sky, splendid light and colors, very well done, my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hi Carol,
I like the POV you chose to capture this wide angle shot. I like the PP work you performed rendering such precise details in the ancient walls. Beautiful texture and splendid contrasts with the partially clouded sky.
A neat presentation.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Olá Carol.

Interesting piece of the Maya architecture, perfect sharpness and details, informative note

A well detailed shot with superb light and from a well thought POV, Carol!

The colors are natural and I like the diagonal approach against an artistic sky.
DOF and clarity are well done, and the textures of this ancient building is well shown.
Great job!

Kind regards,

Hello Carol, a pleasing PoV looking along the structure and taking in the different textures of the stonework, and shapes of the stairs etc.,
Good lighting, natural colour and a lovely sky to complete the picture.
Interesting notes too.
Regards Jean.

Bom dia Carol
I like your photos. The theme touch always my sensibility. You have choose a great angle ...the " piece" has strurture dinension and interesting textures. Even sky has drama and seenm to be touched by the temple. Your "rocka" speaks,,,and from ancient times seem to get all the life possible. You make " things" with power and dignity. another impressive photo...it has character and not just quality. Obrigada for the journey
Um abraço
