Hi Tsilla.

There are many images such as these that cause the mind to work overtime in understanding the perspectives...its something to do with which side of the brain is more active as to what you see and understand with an image such as this. There is a famous drawing of an old lady....but also a beautiful young lady depending what prspective your understand first.

All that said, this is a very striking image, no doubt it looks amazing seeing it first hand in the cathedral. Your tight crop does the trick as an illusion for sure. Very well presented.

Beautiful graphic art. A nice capture of these floor tiles. Yes, they are wonderful, they are very common tiles in the Maltese Houses. They create a splendid perspective. Nice contrasts and such a neat presentation.

excellent observation!A perspective paradox, practical example of how the mind drives the sense of sight until completely distort the reality.Interesting the use that often has been made of it in architecture and in the art in general and interesting the deceptive image that you show us, moreover well enhanced by the B/W.Very good presentation.

Hi Tsilla, I love these optical illusions and the way that they trick our eyes.This could have looked quite different if you had taken it from another angle.
The cropping works well, and I like the simple framing.
