Today I did something pretty fun. I think it was Olympus who sponsored it, quite possibly along with a local camera club (if I knew Mandarin, I would be able to tell you for certain) had a public shoot. They hired about 8 or 10 models and let anyone snap away. This was the perfect excercise for my new digital, shooting without remorse. I took almost three hundred frames. This one is of the model I had the most luck with.

What is strange is that although she was good looking (they all were), once I looked at her through the viewfinder, she really came to life. The other girls there were equally good looking in person, but at least to my eyes didn't really sparkle through the lens like this girl did. I bet I took 80 shots just of her.

This is a kind of quick and dirty post processing job. No cropping, minor curves and levels and some sharpening.

Nice interaction between girl and photographer. Yeah, she does look amazing. I really like the pose/smile/air kiss she gave you. My only nit pick is about the the tightness of the crop at the top...touching her hair. Maybe more/less room would have worked better. Next stop: fashion photography...could be fun! ;-)

Hi Darren!

This is a great photo. I like the pose and the colors. The DOF is also very apt. IMHO, I would crop it tighter on the right to allow more focus to the yes. Anyway, congratulations!

Very Nice !
You are very fortunate to be able to practice few models
The only place I can find free models, is at car show!

wonderful portrait Darren, what a great moment - this expression and her hands on her cheeks - incerdible. bravo!

Thats a great portrait; good dof and and well composed. The exposure and detail are spot on, great result. 'This one is of the model I had the most luck with' - this could mean more than one thing : )

Very beautiful portrait Darren, she have a very great expression and you take the shot at the right moment...

Very funny and interesting story you told us... lucky you to have expensive models available for free, I guess, and for practicing, which is even better... I would do the same if I was wearing your shoes... I like the picture, hoping to see more of them...

Super work, Darren! I find her expression, looking like it is between expressions, is very captivating and dynamic. Clarity, sharpness and depth of field are all well used here.

What a great potrait Darren. Don't know how i missed this one. Don't think you need to do any more post process on this one. It is very fine the way it is. Sutible colours, good focus and DoF.

Pretty girl, very attractive expression, and perfect portrait. Framing, focus, colors, soft background. Lucky you! I would dream being in your position that day. Certainly a beautiful day and a great experience. You really did well.

Quite a catch!
You have captured her very well, at a very good moment.
I like the expression on her face, and the underlining of it with her hands.
You have chosen a good title for this photo too... :)

You're so right, nice expression and beautiful girl for sure!It seems to me that the model had a close energy with you, good pic.

Simply beautiful! I really like the expression on her face...

First: the model is, indeed, very beautiful;

Second: your note is a literary piece - very well written;

Third: as for the photo itself, you did a great job. Despite the little PP, everything is excellent - even the BG, which I liked so much.

Congratulations on everything.

Wonderful portrait of a wonderful girl in a wonderful pose, Darren, really......wonderful !

Hi Darren, I think this is a good photo and is well composed with an interesting moment caught, I do think that it has a distracting fault: the light and colour cast. Her skin tone does not at all look flattering. I'd like to see it warmer.

nice photo, she font look in the camera so its likes more nature en she is very pretty to hehe!!
Tfs ed-lin :-)

Nice Portrait...

I love the interative face looking like she is almost talking to me

Hi Darren, Good fun-looking portrait of this lovely model. You did a good job in the settings and the result is ideal. Maybe post some others as workshops? TFS. Murray.

Wonderful portrait, what a lovely expression of her position...
I sure don't hate her...but I'm sure I like her..!
