[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I don't contribute to the Friday Theme that often, but I had this one ready to post, so why not past it today.

This is a photo from the Marriott Hotel on Orchard Road in Singapore. I spent two whole days in the hotel attending a conference on Export Controls and decided that I didn't want to leave Singapore without a photo of it. When I was standing across the street and composing the photo I figured that an odd angle would make the view more interesting. My trusted little G9 isn’t perfect for long exposures but this one turned out pretty well.

I think you have well chosen the pov, in fact, it uses the geometric lines of the ground with intelligence.
Very good nocturnal view with very nice star lighting.
Reflections on the street are a plus, really great job.
Beautiful entry to the friday theme.

Hi Niek,

Interesting POV with the tilted image of a nice night shot. IMHO the 4 seconds is a little too long, hence the overexposed areas...I still like the photo.

Hello Niek

A great addition to the theme. I like the tilt and excellent sharpness. Bravo. How do you like the Canon G series camera? I am thinking of getting one. Thanks for the nice image

Hi Niek,
LOVE LOVE the color tones and vibrancy in this. Well composed, excellent setting control. The rain on the streets adds a lot to this photo... well done and TFS Julie

Yessss.. this is absolute fun!
Great sharpness and light here Niek. I really like this... good idea to take this kind of shot on a rainy day!

in a week or two we'll go and take evening shots in Amsterdam... I hope to be able to take a few nice ones....

Hello Niek, some pictures seem to lend themselves to being tilted, and this is one of them;the tilting works perfectly.
The street lights shining on the wet road give a golden glow to the shot. The 'blue hour' is captured beautifully and gives some lovely colours, as the city is lit up for the night.
The stars complete the shot.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Niek,

Superb composition for this theme in the street. I like the oblique angle of the composition is original and I like really. The lights and reflections are beautiful, great job.
Thank you for sharing and a great weekend.

Ha... Nice one Niek... My kind of thing here; blue hour and tilt!!!!! Good use of this little pocket-cam. This shows how someone who knows what they're doing can produce this high quality kind of image!

Hi Niek

G9...I had a look at one of those. they got them for the photographers here at work. easy to handle and well worth the money.
You took a great shot here. Love the cropping, the angle just gives it that extra kick it needs. (actually without that this would have easy been a very boaring image) well done.

> Engraçado, para os outros voce fala que as fotos deles são pessimas e de pobre qualidade,
mas voce apresenta uma foto torta, e sem interesse nenhum de poder analisar correto esta foto
totalmente torta e vertical, pense antes de falar que é teu ponto de vista, pois a minha tambem foi meu ponto de vista, num dia cinza e chuvoso..ok!

Indiferente a mim.....

sleek is the word here, love it...
