[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Over the years, I have taken many waterfall photos but have not been satisfied because of exposure issues. For this scene, it was my objective to properly meter the water and yield an image with good depth. Thus a speed of 1/8 sec and f/22 aperture setting was chosen. I think i succeeded to some extent, but I need more practice. I did not carry my tripod for this scene and so I set the cam on a rock for support.

Oh btw, this is Legazpi in Albay.

I thank you for stopping by and wishing you a good weekend.

Hi Danilo

Good motion blur on the cascading waterfall, with excellent color & sharpness. I like the colour contrast, between the yellow green leaves, & blue tinted shadow areas. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Danilo,
Awesome looking waterfall, the slow shutter speed has produced a nice dreamy effect. There is some overexposure in the water (often inevitable), but the colours are captured well. You can either reduce the gamma in the OE parts, or try taking a few shots with different exposures and blend them together on the computer later on, like an HDR. Nice composition too.

Hi Danilo, try using a ND filter, that will help control the OE in the waterfall, I use an ND400.

Very good photo with a nice low pov, well done.

Hi Danilo
be satisfied with this result because is wonderful

Hi Danilo:
This is a super achievement for the camera settings to get such a sharp pic ... 80% of my pics are blurry with that exposure and no tripod....even when resting the cam on a post or rock , I must have shaky hands ... nicely done ... sorry for my absence many times but I feel myself burning out not with the photography but just with Critiques on this sight so I am just pacing myself.....take care Roman:0)

Hello Danilo,

The rock obviously worked well as a support.
It would have been so much more difficult hand held.
Although there is a little oe on the water, it doesn't spoil the shot.
I like the low pov making the best possible use of the f/g rocks.
The photograph is well composed with an off-centre focal point and good use of contrasting textures.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Good work here Danilo, considering you dont have a tripod and ND filter. Its a pity that there are LOTS of OE areas on the falls. I always make it a point to photograph waterfalls when the sky is overcast (whenever possible). If its sunny weather you may shoot the falls very early in the morning or late in the afternoon depending on where the falls "faces"

very nice capture...clear image and exposure was good you feel cool effect of the running waterfalls...very beautiful shot

Hi Danilo!
this is a wonderful composition...everything is well positioned...
the waterfall is captured in a stunning way...nice colors too!

Succeeded you did! This is a beautiful image!! TFS!

very nice scene to capture. i like the cotton like water falling from the top caused by the shutter speed. great sharp details. thanks for sharing. bicolano ka rin ba kabayan?
