while in albay hoping to see the majestic mount mayon while erupting, we came upon this valley where lava from the previous eruption flowed. this mango tree is the sole survivor of its kind in this town. i took this photo at dusk and you can see the thick cloud formation that covered the perfect cone-shaped volcano.
pp: reduced the midtone levels, added a new layer and soft-brushed it with ochre, color-blended with the bg layer to give it a sepia tone.

Hi George,

Nice compositions and choice for b/w

Well Done

Very nice composition.

The clouds are good. The tree in silhouette. The detail of the people are not that seen. How about increasing the shadow till they become silhouette?

But that's just me.

This has very good tonal values. Exposure is even throughout. But by centrally placing the tree in the frame, you made it feel unbalanced because of the other elements in the picture. Since the tree is leaning to the right, you should have panned the camera to the right a bit and create space to counter the dominant element. By reducing the human elements to one or two, you may also have created more impact.

But this is a picture well seen!

p.s. seryoso ng critique, ano? hehehe!

Hi George!
Too perfect :)) Well done. I like it a lot
Best regads,

Very good shot George. Great atmosphere...

Great perspective, love the silhouettes!

points tomorrow....

great compo! the sephia tone really added drama to it. One little suggestion, next time make them fall in line towards the mango tree align with edge of the hill so it will create an effect like walk to the valley of the shadows of death or the song "crossroads" by BnH:)

ang ganda 'tol! very nice sepia pp work here, the choice to silouette the people was the right one here, nice dramatic clouds.

looking forward to more!

The mood excellent, I like the silhouetted tree most notably the human figures, well done man. Cheers always.

galeng galeng. ang ganda. not much to say, just pure admiration.
