i got this fragrance for my better half, its called 'diamonds'. yesterday after shooting that table lamp (my previous post) i decided to shoot this fragrance cuz the bottle has cuts like a diamond n i was wondering the outcome of the shot with emergency light (fluorescent) n table lamp (incandescent) at my disposal.

here's how its done,
-in a dark room, placed a small side table with black cloth on top a foot or two away from the wall, placed the bottle at the farthest end. placed the emergency light on the floor right behind the table/bottle.
-placed the table lamp infront of the table/bottle on the floor right under the camera.
-camera on tripod, 2 sec self timer, 2sec at f/8

i will comment on your photo in the next paragraph, because i wish to tell you that this is another brilliant n intelligent work from you... i am sorry, let me repeat that... it's another brilliant, intelligent and poorly recieved work from you.

you have done a very neat job with the available stuff and it shows.. not many photographers i know can be so creative and technically/aesthetically sound in their creativity and presentation respectively. a very well written note to accompany a very well taken photo. my salute!

Salam Mehmood,

I have also tried some perfume bottle picks and I am sure they are good but this one is a leader, the work of third light is a Intelligent work here.

I am also with Mark25 regarding with luck and work.

AOA Mehmood,
A very sharp image of this perfume bottle.
The cuts are very sharply visible. The lighting is nice too with a good bg.
Indeed a good and steady shot!

very nice photo and lighting.
thanks for the note as i have wanted to try this type of photography but was not confident of the technique to use.

Hi Mehmood, A well arranged and presented image of this elaborate glass fragrance bottle. I saw these being made in a glass works in South Korea a few years ago, facinating process using special raw materials to get such a good clarity and finish, as shown in your photo. Good work. Murray.

an interesting DIY setup. its good to know that we can do a setup for a very good photo from whats inside our home which we find very domestic and common. very good outcome. just like a product photography for magazines! fantastic. so how did you achieve thos gradient background? interesting. thanks for sharing!
