[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Was browsing my hard-disks for a document and ‘accidentally’ found this in the 2008 folder (not even in a flagged collection - I guess I missed its presence)

Please allow me to share a humble opinion that says, photography doesn't really rely on gear. It’s the efforts that make it the most. Yes, better gears offer us advantage/s but it doesn't mean a lot without our dedicated efforts. I am screaming this to myself, yes ME myself as this Monday morning thought me how badly I am losing the soul of enthusiasm. Just now, I was offered a view of beautiful morning light with magnificent cloud formation icing the cake, but I ignored – I simply permitted the time restraint as a reason (albeit a full ‘good’ set of landscaping kit were with me)

Back to the photo - aid with some kits for props and lighting, it was shot using an old Pentax K10D with a Pentax kit-zoom, a humble petite 50-200mm with blots of fungi on its glasses. I remember the WHOLE early-morning was solely spent to get this fella the best i could (and thankfully I actually managed to nail a bunch of good ones)

For composition, this photo could have been improved if I give it a further effort (on field or in post-processing) to ‘simplify’ its compo - less foliage to give the main subject more prominence. Being a self-motivating (and something to remember of) photo, I leave it as it was.

WELL, maybe the chi has been snoozing too much for the weekends - I am missing the ‘TREKLENS’ spirit years ago… a spirit that has been dwindled when there are another priorities that begging more attention. 

Hi Ramdan,
I like the shallow dof here and the frozen action of the bee in flight. The colors are vivid and beautiful. However, what I like most the hint of the blurred wings showing motion. Excellent work Randan.

Beautiful shot Ramdan. Incredible detail, great color and lighting. Looks like the heart of the flower is glowing. Nice dof. Well done. TFS, Lori
