Could someone photograph me, please?

And, of course I said “Why not. Let me.”

It was a short bright sunny ‘minutes’ on a rainy day at Poring Hot Spring, Ranau. Photographer friends; Sarawak Trekkers (TE/TL) Bill (trekks), Alfred (alftrek), Jong (jong) and a photo trekker couple (soon to join this wonderful community) and Sabah TE’s Fadzil (fadzilaffendy) and sifu Rabani (rabani) and I was having a rest after a light trail trekking. Cameras and gears were having its rest too, after ‘hardly used’ for Kipungit Waterfall shooting session.

This buddy, a beautiful butterfly of unknown name and species was ‘admiring’ the cameras and gears put on rest at a bench. She might knew, that those things are used for documenting the beauty of nature, so she sent me a message by perching just by Rabani’s Canon 40D in front of me. :)…I must admit it was another lucky moment for me to have a nice shot of nature’s beauty (Just one, single shot I managed to get before she flew away, distracted by my movement while I was trying to move closer. That was why I considered myself lucky; the single shot was quite good enough for sharing). I was really hoping that she perched facing to my left hand side… must be better, I guessed.

Hope I am sharing with you the joy of photography, as I had been smiling so ‘big and wide’ to my ears for this shot. I love it; I really like to share it with this wonderful Treklens community.

Happy shooting,
P/S: I’d been thinking, whether she was there for me, or the 40D or the cigarette box… :D

PP: Slight cropping and level adjustment before been sharpened.

Assalamualaikum Ramdan. You are so lucky to be up there sharing experiences and enjoying the nature around Kinabalu. Familiar names are there so my warmest regards to all of them. This shot is indeed stunning and sometimes all it takes is just one. You have done this is superb sharpness and this could be some mountain version of evening brown or chocolate pansy but don't take my words for it. Very well done with inclusion of Rabani's Canon and a a box of Dunhill to go around. :-) Best regards. Jusni

hi Ramdan

I like how you framed the brightly colored butterfly against the black camera, and it is very rare to have an insect near to a digital equipment for such a lovely composition. Very good contrast. Impressive work.

I must have been busy doing something else for not paying attention to this scene. But I know where and how it looked like on that bench at Poring's hot springs.

I feel happy to meet all 3 of you. I know you will produce more good photos with that Pentax lens.

TFS, bill

Salam Ramdan

Nice Compsoitions here... and the story you tell is beautiful with the BG is the camera... congrats

Hi Ramda, Another delightfully creative composition. The beautiful butterfly against the new camera looks wonderful. You could send this to the Canon company so they could use it! TFS. Murray.

How can you resist to this offer?
Just impossible...and thanks because we take advantage of it...
