[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Rather strange looking flowers and a grasshopper on the edge of the Borneo jungle an hour from Kuching at Matang reserve. Used the zoom lens as macro setting.

Dear Murray,
very interesting flower indeed! Beautiful colour too. Excelllent macro!
Warm regards,

Nice clear, sharp details here - in parts, at least, although the very narrow DOF has made it problematic to get sharpness over both flower heads. I would guess a smaller aperture would be needed - but of course that would take your shutter speed even lower, which I guess is why serious macro photography requires specialised lenses, extra lighting, or a tripod!

But this has great capture of colour, the grasshopper is a good touch, and is a pleasing and engaging shot.

Hello Murray,
Great color, shape, and textures in this wild flower arrangement. I may have cropped the image to the left a bit to close the scene a bit as the open area on the left is a bit too much as one's eyes drop out of the scene.
Great flowers, and excellent work with your Zooooom Lens...

Hi Murray,

This appears like a cockscomb plant...but I have never seen a purple variety. The tech settings chosen are usually what I use on cloudy days and resulted in a sharp and well exposed image. Cheers.

Hello Murray.

Flowers look very curiously and originally
and nicely on green background.
Beauty composition, colours and light.
It congratulates realization.

With best wishes.
