A *deserted* train station in Tamagawa Josui in Tachikawa. During rush hour, train stations in Japan give new meaning to the word *jampacked* ... but this time we have it all to ourselves...

Wanted to see how my D50 fairs at high ISOs. For this shot it was set it to ISO 1600. The shutter speed (1/8s) and aperture(f6.7) were just enough for a clear hand held shot (we made several test shots before the train came :D).

PP:
- NeatImage for noise
- Adjusted levels
- Sharpening using USM
- Resized using bicubic sharper in PS

Thanks Mike for the idea!

You got a very nice effect Allan, I like it very much, the yellow color was important here, it gave an excellent result.

tol, i can assure you that the d50 can handle ISO 1600 more better than any other nikon...

1600? wow, very clean result !...
very good image, great colors and composition

Very nice capture. Excellent sharpness in difficult conditions to offset the blur of the speeding train. I would have straightened it though.

TFS,
David

Excellent work with the shutter speed

Psychodelic train baby, we all live in a yellow train .... whooooosshhhhhh.

Accidentally well combined colors, proper sharpness and good use of layers of scene to offer description of space. Very well done.

A.

Very nice use of the slow shutter speed - a fantastic sense of the rushing train and the lone static passenger. Great saturation and excellent use of available light.
Well done!

Thats a good capture of motion and the blur effect behind the man is superb and it represents speed, the colours are lovely and vibrant as well. good concept.
