[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It's hard to believe almost a year has passed since I took this. Kaiping in southern China, is surrounded by many small towns featuring these watchtowers, constructed in the 1920's, by wealthy returning overseas Chinese leaving countries such as Canada, the USA, & Malaya where they had made their fortunes. Weather was not the best but it was still good to be out of the cold of northern China. This is one of those small towns known as Zili Village

Hi Chris,
See you on TL after a while. Interesting capture of these old houses. Wonder if people still live in them?

Wish you a very happy new year.

Sunil

Interesting that you finally showed up, I was just thinking yesterday of asking if someone heard from you. Welcome back!

Awesome capture of the reflections of those buildings. Good lighting and dof with nice details. Very well done, tfs.

Hi Chris,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The wideness of the pound is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the houses. The cloudy sky is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hi Chris,
Welcome back to TL! A beautiful capture of these interesting buildings and their reflection in the water. I like the low POV. Very sharp image with perfect light management.
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Hi Chris.

Its good to have you posting again, its been awhile.
The stark buildings stand out in these conditions, the many windows appear to take control of the attention.
An interesting tone to the water also gives off these reflections, good notes to thsi scene.
Welcome home.

Hello Chris, good to see you here once again.
I would not have been able to identify the country by the style of these buildings if there was no address.
They make an interesting picture. What a pity that it was a grey day.Nevertheless you have managed to capture reflections in the still water.
I like the PoV.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Well well look who's here , nice to see you posting Chris , i am not here that much but i poke in from time to time to see how things are shaping up , anyway one from China and as Jean wrote , it would be hard to tell where this interesting image has been taken, the subtle bluish-tinged sky makes the light-coloured buildings stand quite nicely against it and the finely saturated greens are visually pleasing , not a bad shot i reckon , thanks for sharing my friend ,
Greetings ,
Carol
