Morning Snow at Namtso
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|The morning after a night's rain at Namtso in Tibet. We were camped at Namtso, a sacred lake at 15,500ft. in Tibet, when it rained all night and the next morning the surrounding hills were covered in snow. This is a camp close to ours with yaks and sheep owned by Tibetan nomads grazing in the background. That is part of Namtso also seen in the background.|
-Shot and adjusted in RAW
-Adjusted levels globally
-Increased contrast slightly in curves
-Lightened foreground using curves and gradient mask
-Adjust levels of sky using a gradient mask to bring out the clouds more
-Resized aand USM

The white tent reminds me of a Mongolian 'ger'. Superb colour & sharpness with excellent composition. Tfs!
A fine capture and an amazing location!
Image is well composed, and the snowy mountains look awesome in the morning sun...
Many interesting details in this fine document!
Very nice composition and perspective! The exposure is perfect for so many different light sources and the DOF great.

Nice spacing, David. I like the proportion between the various textures and colors of the picture. I can almost feel and smell the chilli wind coming down from those freshly "sugared" mountains. Thanks for bringing us along.
