[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A break from my annual armistice tradition... today no soldier graves but a relaxing view of a backlit beach. 90 Years ago the Great War ended. I thought I'd post something like this, the idea is: you can better lay on a beach than in a trench!

In my family, palm trees are associated with "vacation".

I'm on cooking detail now. Will be back later tonight to look at the gallery...

Converted from RAW in LightRoom.

Preprocessing: exposure compensation: -1 stop.

Postprocessing: just a slight crop, then downsized, framed and signed. No adjustment layers for levels nor curves... It's as was captured by the 450D/Rebel xsi

Hi Frank,
Nice quiet and subdued mood here, black and white fits it well, although unless its this monitor, is there some intentional yellow-orange around the sun's flare? If so, very cool effect, if not, I've got a new monitor coming anyway. ;)
Definitely does feel like the end of a vacation day.
If I may, how do you find/like both Lightroom and the XSi?

Hi Frank,

Bravo! Annie

Hi Frank,
Beautiful bw composition,good light,congratulation.
Best regards,
