Africa in Infrared

|I bought an Infrared filter and read all about how to take the shots and how to post process them (which is quite complicated) but the results were terrible.|
After doing some research on the internet I found that most cameras have a filter built in which blocks IR light - the way to check is to point a TV remote at the lens and see if the camera sees it and mine doesn't.
You can get your camera modified so that its a dedicated IR camera but that's a bit extreme.
This is an IR simulation done in Photoshop, there are lots of great examples on the web or flickr
