The Pied Kingfisher is the only black & white kingfisher. They are fairly tame and can become bold. Usually found hovering over the water before diving in for fish.

Bom dia Erwin,
Great shot and very intelligent conversion to black and white which highlighted the full range of shades and variations of tones and halftones.

As you know, B&W is not " always " my cup of tea but, not a bad image at all of this Kingfisher. I just wonder how it would have looked in colour.

Interesting textured branch and good clarity and detail shown on the kingfisher. I am wondering if the colours in the background were distracting because I would have like to have seen the kingfisher in colour also.
