[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ostrich racing at the Highgate Ostrich Farm six miles south of Oudtshoorn.
We were prepared to be bored by the tour of the Ostrich Farm but the guide was so enthusiastic that the tour turned out to be one of the most interesting ones we have experienced. The ostriches have neither crop nor teeth so eat stones to held grind and digest their food. Unfortuneately, other objects on the ground also get swallowed; the farm has a display of objects taken from stomachs - car engine spark plugs, for example!
The ostriches were moving so quickly in this race, and we were so close to them, that I almost lost this picture - as evidenced by the leading ostrich being almost out of the picture.

Ostrich? Wow, this is very good. The novelty of your shots is commendable. I was also looking at your TE post today and I noticed your different shot. Very creative mind. Very good colors in this shot, BTW.

Wow! I have never seen anything like this, but I have heard of it!
Great movement and action in this! Lack soem in sharpness, but you had a tricky situation I guess.
Great moment captured, very well done!

Amazing shot that provides us with a window into an ostrich activity that I never would have imagined possible. Thanks for the glimpse into this unknown world.

It's a nice picture, but it would have more power if there would be a little more space at the left of the image. Anyhow, it's a powerfull photo...
