The cementary of Joal-Fadiout

The twin villages of Joal and Fadiout (Fadiouth) are 110 km south of Dakar. Joal, on the mainland, was the birthplace of poet and first Senegalese president Léopold Sédar Senghor. A long wooden bridge Joal is connected Fadiout.

Fadiout is build on an island that's made almost entirely of clam shells. Fadiout is home of an very interesting cementary of hundreds of Christian graves, each marked by a cross and a pile of shell, as well as hundreds of Muslim graves.

Bonjour Achim,
Amicalement
Jean

Achim,

This is a very dry place, indeed. Lots of ligh reflecting from the ground. The composition with the horizon coming down from the left to the right worked nicely.
Cheers,
Wellington

Hi Achim,
Very interesting place, so dry, and burned by the sun. I like your composition, the path is a invitation for going beyond the horizon, beyond the death in a great light. Excellent! Annie

Hi Achim!

I really like cemeteries. The tree on the right looks like one of those thousand year old trees. Do you know it's name?

I like your PoV here.

Thanks for sharing this!

Dennis
